Charwe Display Typeface is a modern display futuristic typeface named after a spirit medium. The typeface is an imagination of what a modern day typeface would look like if our Zimbabwean culture played a central role in the digital world we live in now. Charwe has a basic character set specifically made for the chiShona and isiNdebele orthographies, meaning diacritics, which are normally present in western orthographies, are not available in the typeface. A true realization of our culture playing a pivotal role in the modern world while paying homage to the great spirit medium. Charwe has three weights, the light version named, ‘Nehanda’, regular version, ‘Nyakasikana’ & the bold, ‘svikiro.’
